About Katie Flaster, Certified Rolfer in Marin County, California
My entry into Rolfing® Structural Integration began on a very personal level - the pain in my own body. Looking for relief from chronic pain in my lower body, I sought out structural integration and was amazed by the profound shift I experienced. Not only did my immediate pain go away but I began to embody my skin in a whole new way. I learned about my own patterns of postural holding and gripping. I learned that I did not have to accept chronic discomfort as the status quo. I learned what it meant to feel a lift in my structure. I felt all of this and wanted to help others find it as well.
I approach every client from a holistic point of view, looking at the way in which each body part is contributing to a larger story of form, posture, and shape. I am also sensitive to how an individual's personal and emotional landscape contributes to their physical well-being. I approach all my clients with compassion and kindness and believe that bringing health to a client begins with the health of the practitioner. This work is endlessly fascinating and I continue to be inspired by it daily.
I earned my Rolfing Certification from the Rolf Institute of Structural Integration in Boulder, CO. Additionally, I earned my B.A. from Wellesley College and my J.D. from Northeastern University School of Law.
